- Supporting our members
Careers and Employability Professionals
Our member Careers Services range in size and scale and include careers and employability professionals operating across a range of different activities. We have careers consultants offering careers education, advice and guidance to students and graduates. We also employ information and labour market specialists, employer engagement, internships & placement experts, as well as enterprise professionals.
Our careers consultants come from a range of different industry sectors and occupational backgrounds, and are trained to give one-to-one careers advice, guidance and coaching, as well as creating and facilitating workshops and events.
All of our member Services are externally accredited against the matrix standard which evaluates the quality information, advice and/or guidance services which support individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals; and we have won various national awards in previous years recognising the quality and innovation of the work that we do.
All our careers consultants have, or are working towards, a professional qualification such as The AGCAS/Warwick Dip CEIG HE, Diploma in Careers Education, Information and Guidance in Higher Education (Dip CEIG HE), MSc in Organisational Behaviour or Qualification in Careers Guidance (QCG). We also encourage all our staff to engage with wider professional networks to develop their knowledge and practice, including AGCAS, the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services, the AGR (Association of Graduate Recruiters) and ASET, a membership organisation for placement and employability professionals
